The June 2015 trestleboard has arrived!
The Hiram Award winner for this year is Br Matt Vaughan. The award will be presented to him at the May Spaghetti Dinner. Join us on Tuesday, May 19!
Thank you, Br Matt, for all you do for our Lodge. We are eternally grateful!
We are very excited for the opportunity that W∴ Mike Greenlee presented last month about partnering with the Polk County School District’s STEM program. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. We have been approached, as a Lodge, to help with their science fairs around the district.
What does this mean for Lakeland 91?
We have always been looking for ways to branch out to provide community service, and what better way than volunteering our time to help our most precious assets – the children?
Our first event that we will be helping with will be at the Lakeland Square Mall on May 27 – 29. We will need 10 volunteers to help with the Elementary School Science Fair on Wednesday, May 27, from 9pm to 10:30+ pm, for setup. We will be assisting the organization with setting up tables, signs, and chairs. We will be meeting at the JC Penny on the backside of the mall. On Thursday, May 28, we need 10 volunteers from 8am to 10am for registration and helping direct children to their proper places. On Friday, May 29, we will need volunteers from 8am to 10am for registration and again at 9pm to 10pm for tear down.
The science fair will be located in the center of the mall. If you enter the mall on the opposite side of the food court, you can’t miss it!
If you are interested and available, please contact W∴ Bill Setterberg. Email and phone number are available in this month’s trestleboard. We will also have sign-up sheets at the next stated meetings.
